Autistic Girl Missing for Four Years Found Safe

It was announced on Wednesday, July 26, by the police in Arizona, USA, that a girl who had gone missing in 2019 was found safe.

The Glendale Police Department officials revealed on Wednesday that Alicia Navarro, who went missing when she was 14 years old, was found safe in a town in Montana near the U.S.-Canadian border, and she is now 18 years old.

Described as a high-functioning autistic teen, Navarro had left home in the middle of the night in 2019.

During a press conference, officials mentioned that Navarro was asking for privacy.

Her mother, Jessica Nunez, had tirelessly searched for her daughter over the years.

“We are happy, and at the same time, we are hopeful we will be able to supply this family with a little more closure,” stated Glendale Police spokesperson Jose Santiago.

It was reported that Alicia Navarro went to a local police station in Montana, which is 40 miles south of the U.S.-Canadian border.

In a video provided by the police, Alicia Navarro is heard saying “No, no one hurt me” when asked if she was hurt.

An ongoing investigation into her disappearance is being conducted by the Glendale Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
